Polyester filament. When spinning the filament, the solidified filament is wet oiled and wound on the bobbin at a speed of about 3500 m/min to get the preoriented filament (POY). POY can not be directly used for fabric weaving. POY can be used directly for weaving or deformation processing to produce stretch wire (DT), stretch deformable wire (DTY) or twisted wire after stretch shaping, elastic or twisting. After solidification, the filament is directly stretched by oiling and wound at 4500-5000m/min to obtain the fully drawn filament (FDY), which can be used for weaving. Kodel, an American commodity, is another polyester fibre that has been industrially produced. It is spun from a polymer derived from the polycondensation of terephthalic acid and 1, 4-cyclohexane dimethanol. Compared with polyester, it has a light specific gravity of 1.22, a higher melting point of 290 ~ 295℃, strong decomposition resistance, and slightly lower strength and elongation of fiber. Suitable for blending with cotton and wool, the fabric made of good elasticity, feel, wrinkle resistance and pilling resistance, but poor strength and wear resistance.
